Our team is composed of dedicated professionals who are here to help you get better. We work together and we work hard to guide you toward meeting your goals.

Office Staff

Kendra Pontes

Administrative Assistant
Kendra is originally from Sudbury and studied Modern Languages at Laurentian University, so she can assist you in English, French, Spanish and Italian! 

She enjoyed her time learning about the different cultures and loves being able to travel and translate for everyone she's with.

Kendra has an extensive background in customer service and is excited to join the Neuro Physio team to expand her knowledge of the Extended Health Care field. She connects strongly with the clinic's values and can't wait to help clients. 

In her spare time, Kendra enjoys being active. She enjoys going to the gym and being outdoors. Some of her favorite activities include hiking the trails around Sudbury and camping. 

When she's not at work, she enjoys watching baseball and spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking.

Therapy Staff

Christina Haavisto

MSc. PT, Physiotherapist.
Christina is a registered physiotherapist, who recently completed her Master's of science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University in 2018. She did her undergraduate degree in Health Promotion at Laurentian University. Being from Sudury, Christina has returned to her home and family to begin her career with her new husband.

Christina deals primarily with musculoskeletal conditions, but has a passion for continuing education and hopes to expand her practice to include other types of rehab including neurological, vestibular and concussion. She loves a challenge and believes that being creative and personalized will help her work with clients to suit their life needs best. She values honesty, integrity, good communication and understanding.

Outside of work, Christina enjoys being outdoors, hiking, camping, drawing and running.

Hilary Deverell

BSc, MSc. PT, Physiotherapist.
Hilary is a registered physiotherapist with a special interest in providing rehabilitation to individuals living with a neurological condition. She completed her Bachelor of Science, Honors Specialization in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario in 2015, and completed her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at McMaster University in 2017.

She has taken additional training in concussion and vestibular rehabilitation, acupuncture, soft tissue release techniques, and various courses in neurological rehabilitation to expand her repertoire of clinical skills to better serve individuals living with multiple sclerosis,
Parkinson’s disease, brain injury, stroke, or other neurological conditions. Hilary practices using a client-centred approach to help her clients reach their goals and return to what they enjoy doing.

Hilary is originally from Blind River, Ontario. After completing her post-secondary education and beginning her career in Southern Ontario, she is excited to return to Northern Ontario to offer physiotherapy services and continue to develop her clinical skills.

In her spare time, Hilary enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog Renley. She enjoys hiking, swimming, exercising, and spending time with family and friends

Coreen Hashem

CAT, Athletic Therapist
Coreen is a Certified Athletic Therapist who completed her degree at Concordia University and passed her certification exam in 2018. Since certification she has been working in a private clinic treating athletes and non-athletes experiencing musculoskeletal pain. 

She takes a total body approach to treating injuries by building proper movement patterns and strengthening core muscles in order to prevent injury. When not in the clinic, Coreen can be found working with local sports teams during practices and games for injury prevention and management. 

Teams she has worked with previously include Cobourg Saxons Senior Women’s Rugby, Clarington Shamrox Junior “C” Lacrosse, and Trent University’s Varsity Rugby, Soccer, and Volleyball. Coreen is interested in continuing her education in courses relating to concussion rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and neurological rehabilitation.

Coreen has moved to Sudbury for the opportunity to work alongside the staff at Neuro Physio and its clientele in order to continue to develop her skills and to gain knowledge and experience working with neurological populations. 

Coreen is looking forward to exploring all of the outdoor activities the Sudbury area has to offer.

Karine Lagacé

BSc. HSS, MSc. PT, Physiotherapist.
Clinic Owner
Karine studied at the University of Ottawa starting in September of 2006, to complete her Baccalaureate degree in Health Sciences in 2010. She continued to obtain her Master's degree in Physiotherapy in August 2012.

She has since moved back to Sudbury to gain some experience in the field by working at Health Sciences North on the orthopedic and neurosurgery unit. She had a brief adventure in New Liskeard, ON, during which she worked for the Community Care Access Centre, now known as LHIN Home and Community Care. She came back to her previous employment to be closer to family, in Sudbury. Along the way, Karine has participated in continuing education for a variety of neurological conditions, including Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Stroke. She continues to search for learning opportunities to nourish her professional growth.

She started this practice to offer a service that was not available in Sudbury. Karine has a passion for helping people who don't know where else to turn. She enjoys working with all types of neurological conditions, helping people regain their independence and confidence when moving around.

In her spare time, Karine enjoys spending time with her baby boy, husband and dog. She enjoys fishing, quilting, painting and wood burning.
